Midwinter Front Door Hanger

Time to take the Christmas wreath off your front door and not quite ready for the spring arrangement? A midwinter idea is to make a vertical door hanger with winter cabbages. Take a tray of a winter cabbages and put them in a plastic bag. I got this tray of cute colourful little cabbages at a local gardening store (Triple Tree Nurseyland in Maple Ridge). Tie the top of the bag with a wire and attach the tray vertically on a door hanger. Make small openings in the bag with scissors and gently bring out the winter cabbages in these openings.  Take a rope and decorate around arrangement to give it a rustic look. I hydrate mine with a spray bottle that way I don't have to take it down for waterings.
